On the 14th of May 1990, Michael Milbrett joined Guernsey Coating Laboratories. In the last 30 years, Mike has shown that his dedication, determination and insight go beyond the standard job description.

Many know Mike through his expertise in thin film coating design and quoting jobs that cross his desk. Some know him through the industry trade shows. Some know him through phone conversations where he problem solves. Others know him as he works one on one and with a team towards a successful outcome. Whether creating custom tooling, modifying a coating chamber or researching a better way to help a client, Mike is known by many to take on projects that extend way past business hours.

Mike has melted into the fabric of our industry, an integral part of the photonics family. He takes on projects with enthusiasm and a “no fail” attitude. The same attitude he demonstrates over his passion for building and flying model planes. The same attitude he displays when discussing a new Star Wars movie or when given the opportunity to view an upcoming space launch.

I am excited to see what the future brings. I thank Michael for his professionalism…his integrity…his perseverance and all that he brings to Guernsey Coating Laboratories, Inc. The journey continues.
